UX Creative Design Internship at BYTON

As an intern in the UX Design group, you will be in the trenches shadowing, participating, learning and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and real-life work environment. You will also bring a fresh perspective to creative problem solving for the future of digital-vehicle design. You will be exposed to complex multi-modal interactions.

Internship Role & Responsibilities:

  • As a UX Creative Designer, you will operate horizontally across verticals as an ambassador for UX design and design thinking
  • There will be strong alignment with product teams to:
    • Integrate Design Research, Design Strategy, and UX Design to help product teams with product clarity, alignment, opportunity areas, and concept design
    • Implement discovery process with stakeholders to gather information on what's been done, what's failed, what's succeeded, product team process, as well as requirements gathering to help transfer this knowledge to the UX Design team
    • Contribute to UX creative process to add more strategic value to product teams so that UX is involved from the start
    • With brand, research, and product knowledge, help teams develop concepts for features and provide a unique UX point-of-view that helps differentiate the BYTON experience in the market
    • Collaborate with vehicle designers on strategic future concept experiences with a focus on the out-of-car and in-car digital experience
    • Develop and support a comprehensive guideline to be utilized by both inhouse and external partners
  • Support UX managers and senior level UX designers developing use cases, workflow diagrams, and wireframes for the HMI system; Infotainment, Nav, ADAS, and more

Skills:

  • Foundational knowledge of UX best practices; user scenarios, user journeys, user stories, use cases, work flows, and wireframes
  • Ability to think multi-dimensionally and orthogonally about the customer experience, interaction model and content experience of the digital displays
  • Ability to sense-make and strategically shape a product vision
  • Ability to apply and advocate for a user centric approach and differentiated experience for the in-car and out-of-car BYTON digital experience
  • Ability to story tell and develop creative artifacts that help to make the experience strategy tangible through storyboards, video animatics, infomatics, and different fidelities of prototyping
  • Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Principle, and Adobe Suite)
  • Coding ability for either Web, Android, or both
  • Proficient in English; written and spoken
