BYTON is an innovative electrical vehicle start up based in Nanjing with a global footprint. The legal department is seeking an proactive, knowledgeable, forward-thinking, and collaborative IP Administrator capable of applying digital solution(s) to provide efficient and value added management of BYTON’s rapidly expanding global IP portfolio (mainly patents, designs and trademarks).
The BYTON legal department is implementing a digital solution to administer and manage IP processes/operations and manage IP knowledge and documents and records, among other initiatives. The successful candidate will have significant input and responsibility in introducing and utilizing technology to digitize BYTON’s IP processes and to learn about and participate in BYTONs IP management strategies and operations in depth.
The successful candidate will assume day-to-day responsibility for the on-going administration and improvement of Byton’s IP management solution. The candidate will work closely with the IP director and various legal team members to resolve issues and update information, streamline workflow and to improve user experience for the legal department members, and business and engineering communities of BYTON.
The successful candidate will use the digital tools to analyze BYTON’s IP data including technology scope, deadlines, billings, to provide the basis for BYTON’s efficient IP decision making and operations.
The successful candidate will help to drive adoption and improve utilization of the IP platform/solution through communication, updating, and support/training efforts.
At least 3 years in legal, automotive, or technology industry
At least 3 years in IP Administration
Familiarity with digital IP management tools (e.g.. Annaqua)
Aptitude for learning new software and IP operations
Aptitude for learning company's IP management strategy and operations
Knowledge of the global IP (mainly patent, designs and trademarks) protection, filing, and registration systems and processes, and of the related docketing, deadlines
Ability and interest in continued learning in the area of intellectual property related laws, portfolio management approach, and digital tools and processes.
Skills in effective communication and collaboration with lawyers, business/R?&D/IT/Finance functions, and other stake holders regarding IP filing, registration and portfolio management.
Skills in project management
Bachelor's degree in business management, sciences or engineering, or equivalent.
