Byton electrical distribution team is looking for a power distribution junction box engineer who leads the design, packaging and development of the overall vehicle power distribution centers and various electronic control units. (ECUs) 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and Package low voltage junction boxes
  • Understand electrical interface between all parts of the vehicle
  • Interface with interiors & exterior teams to define mechanical package for PDC, IEC, SJB, and ECU’s
  • Be the mechanical counterpart to the electrical design and release engineers in providing the best packaging location, thermal performance and mounting hardware for all PDC, IEC, SJB, and ECUs
  • Develop, create and release drawings for each component
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Byton vehicle engineering, manufacturing engineering and supplier(s) to ensure system manufacturing, assembly feasibility, and serviceability
  • Support vehicle milestones, prototype and production build events
  • Optimization of current designs and generate cost reduction ideas
  • Support vehicle installation procedure & process and or troubleshooting
  • Support & initiate required engineering changes 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Automotive E/E systems and architecture at an OEM or Tier 1
  • BSEE with minimum 5 years of experience with vehicle electrical systems and automotive packaging
  • Formal training in CATIA V5/V6 design with a minimum of 5000 hours of experience in automotive components and subsystem design from concept through release for production
  • Systems networking knowledge, good technical understanding finding alternative solutions, self-organized & motivated
