Role Description

ByHeart is looking to make its first IT hire building out its IT infrastructure and helping assist with management of various systems and services

The person will be responsible for development, evaluation and effective provision of Information Systems and Technology infrastructure, systems and services. Bring in and implement best practices in the industry and work closely with the other IT partners

Role Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network, servers (as applicable) and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, and integrate automation processes
  • Lead desktop support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Develop requirements and case for investment in applications, infrastructure and cyber security
  • Identify compliance with external agencies and regulations
  • Research, evaluate and review current business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and making constructive suggestions for change, along with possible solutions and recommending these changes to management


Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
