The Role

 BuzzFeed News is looking for a Social Media Producer to join our team. You will provide social media support for BuzzFeed News’ Twitter morning show, AM2DM. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about social media, the internet, news!

This is a full-time  “run of show” role based in our New York office.


You Will

Report to the Executive Producer

Work with the Executive Producer and Supervising Producer to build a social strategy that promotes content to the widest audience.

Manage Social Media shoots 

Manage overall promotion of AM2DM across Twitter & Instagram, collaborate with the news curation team, and AM2DM producers on cross-promotion, with minimal guidance from Senior Social Strategist.

 Create unique, fun, ideas for social videos with the potential to go viral. Pitch ideas to senior booking producer to for celebs to be featured in videos. Work with celebs and guests.

 Demonstrate the ability to be additive to BuzzFeed’s culture with a productive attitude and obsession with the things people are sharing, liking, recommending and talking about on the internet

Have the ability to manage multiple projects at once

Analyze and report out about social activity


You Have 

2-3 years experience working with social media

Production experience preferred! Knowledge of adobe premiere, dslr cameras, and basic studio setup

 Have excellent multitasking skills to handle all of the social media accounts you’re responsible for in a cohesive way

Have excellent communication skills, and great attention to detail and are proactive and able to work independently while remaining an excellent collaborator

Have a positive and curious disposition and a genuine love for and excitement about the internet 

Strong standards of journalism with regard to fact checking & spelling.
