📣 A bit about the role.
We're thrilled to be bringing our fresh dog food to Germany, and we need a visionary leader like you to pioneer this exciting journey. As the Germany Country Director, you'll be at the helm of our launch. You’ll play a pivotal role transforming our proven mission and brand into a household name for dog owners across the nation. Your goal is clear – establish us as the the number 1 pet brand in Germany.
You will be responsible for the market entry strategy and overall business growth in Germany, from both a top line as well as bottom line perspective. A successful candidate will have eCommerce/D2C experience with an exceptional customer focus and a solid understanding of the German consumer market.
You will be empowered to build your team and coach them to be a a high performing team on the ground, you will play a crucial role in shaping the culture and identity of the team. You will be a motivational leader know knows how to flex between mentoring and coaching.
This role isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to sculpt an entirely new market landscape and make tails wag all over Germany!
🌱 In this role, you can expect to…
- Own the launch and operation of Butternut in the Germany, including running point on in-market hands-on execution, day-to-day operations, and commercial strategy.
- Support building out of the German entity, hiring a team and implementing existing processes, ensuring connectivity with the UK team (what we call the 'Box Office') - both functionally and culturally.
- Develop and build strong and collaborative relationships with the team in the UK and other country directors
- Live and breathe the Butternut values. Consistently putting the customer first in your decision making, ensuring they always have the best possible experience.
- Bring the Butternut brand alive in a new market, curating it towards the local audience.
- Own the German P&L, continually driving efficient ways to spend cash and grow sustainably
👋 A bit about you.
- We are looking for someone who is bilingual, fluency in German and English.
- Proven experience in a growth focused or commercial role with strong commercial acumen to own the German P&L
- A self-starter who is happy to roll their sleeves up, and feels comfortable with the uncertainty and ambiguity that comes with a new challenge.
- Great at building and developing teams, with a track record of identifying top talent & coaching a high performing team
- Fantastic communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences and cultures; is unafraid to challenge something when necessary and welcomes input from others
- Proven experience in establishing and nurturing relationships across global boundaries, capable to build rapport with stakeholders from all our locations
