📣 A bit about the role  

In this role you will be part of the founding team for the BeNeLux. This means that you will work with a team of other mission-driven people to set-up and run the business first in the Netherlands, and later Belgium and Luxembourg. You will build a team and ensure that our brand amazes our customers.

We’re on the lookout for a creative, highly motivated, results-oriented Brand Manager to help drive and define the Butternut brand internationally. In this role, you’ll concept and execute on brand marketing initiatives to grow awareness in a sustainable way. 

With each project, you’ll play a key role in Butternut’s mission to bring health and happiness to dogs everywhere. If your tail is wagging, read on… 

You will report to the Country Manager directly, and will have a dotted line to our Head of Brand in the UK

In this role, you can expect to…

What you’ll do: 

Brand Marketing

  • Grow the brand and build strong impactful initiatives. This is an ever-growing role and the expectations will flourish with the responsibility. 
    • You’ll work on bringing brand campaigns and marketing activity to life in a way that is aligned to the central brand positioning and delivers the brand promise in a motivating, relevant and credible way.
    • You will be accountable for the campaigns being executed on time and on budget. 
    • You’ll lead on projects that create demand for our products, enhance brand awareness, get people talking, and drive consumer advocacy - all while upholding a smooth, integrated process.
    • You’ll generate ideas that support our ambitious growth objectives in the Netherlands.
  • You’ll report on the performance of the campaigns you lead and report on the brand’s health on a quarterly basis.

Brand Communications

  • Be a brand guardian and consistently work to articulate and execute on on-brand communication in Butternut’s tone, values, proposition and visual standards.
    • You’ll clarify our offering whilst constantly assessing what is important to our potential customer base 
    • You’ll be responsible for maintaining the visual standards, tone and values of Butternut whilst ensuring our communications are localised.
  • Your responsibilities include coordinating the external communications of Butternut in the Benelux 
  • You’ll work to make sure our content is being picked up by reputable news outlets across the UK & Europe. 

A bit about you

    • Experienced and confident in your abilities (4+ years of brand managing experience).
    • Someone who holds high standards for operational excellence: budgets, calendars, timelines, and efficiencies.
    • Able to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams and functions, both internally and externally.
    • Native level Dutch, fluent in English
    • A highly creative and non-traditional thinker.
    • Someone who has a bias for action and just makes things happen.  
    • Articulate in your vision and can inspire others - from teammates, to customers and of course, dogs.
    • An organisational powerhouse who’s comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Passionate about the Butternut brand and the values associated with it.
    • Equipped with effective project management and communication skills.
    • Appreciative of dog culture, communities, and consumers— you seek to understand what inspires and drives them.
    • Fluent in Excel/sheets and PowerPoint/Slides.
    • Able to produce clear and inviting pitch/overview documents. 
    • Well practiced in adobe suites (not essential, but a big bonus)
    • A good communicator and have copywriting skills
    • Someone who really likes dogs.
