The Health Assistant will work as a part of the BCS front office team to provide direct medical care to students and support a healthy school environment. They will routinely render first aid, oversee health office clerical duties, and support the BCS front office with answering phones, interfacing with families, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Provide medical aid to students, when needed, and document necessary information
Report serious accidents or symptoms to families and administrators
Dispense prescription medications and performs head lice checks as necessary
Track student wellness and follow up with parents and/or staff as appropriate
Assist with yearly health screenings
Maintain inventory of medical and first aid supplies for classrooms and health offices
Enter and update student medical and health records in student database
Answer front office calls, communicate with parents, support with student and/or teacher needs
Perform other related duties as assigned
Participate on committees as assigned
