About the Role As a Children and Youth Specialist you will impact the lives of children through engaging with youth from ages 7 years old to 18 years old in different capacities. You will be leading all youth programs, such as tutoring, after school life skills programming, mentoring groups, and other initiatives that are deemed significant for the age groups that are being served.
What You’ll Do As a member of our team you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:
Recognizing and accessing the needs of the children and youth whose parents may/may not be involved in our Family Coaching Program.
Developing professional relationships that can aid in building quality programs and events for the youth on and off site.
Planning, organizing and implementing designated children and youth events, that can range from graduation celebrations to Christmas activities.
Being able to effectively communicate with families that are culturally diverse.
Being able to serve as a liaison for Buckner and provide public presentations to organizations and audiences that are wanting to learn more about the programs and events we offer at our center.
Being an asset to the team and able to build strong and healthy professional relationships with co-workers.
Performing special assignments and providing team support on different projects.
What You’ll Bring to the Team To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum 2 years prior related experience
Minimum one-year prior related experience providing community based services, youth and children programs
A professional commitment to Christian principles so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with Buckner’s mission, vision, and values;
