About the Role As a Infant/Toddler Teacher in the Mary Jo Gorden Child Development Center, you will impact the lives of the children and their families by creating and managing an attractive, warm and challenging learning environment for infants and toddlers.
What You’ll Do As a member of our team you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:
Prepare daily lesson plans, in advance, that include both indoor and outdoor activities.
Ensure infant and toddler classroom is home-like, safe, sanitary, and free of clutter and odor. Provide for diaper changing and toilet training functions.
Stay actively involved and engaged with children at all times during the day.
Observe children and record observations.
Involve parents in all aspects of the classroom.
Provide meals and snacks to children according to their age, development, and needs.
Maintain awareness of the needs of children with an openness and flexibility for creative program changes when necessary.
What You’ll Bring to the Team To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
A High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to use tact and courtesy in a professional manner with children and adults.
Ability to obtain a clean tuberculin (TB) test.
Willingness and ability to successfully complete CPR and First Aid training.
A professional commitment to Christian principles so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with Buckner’s mission, vision, and values;
Preferred Qualifications In addition to the amazing qualifications and experiences listed above, if we had our say, we would also look for:
CDA, certificate or Associate Degree in Early Child Development
Minimum 2 years prior related experience
A willingness and desire to build and maintain awesome working relationships with your coworkers, volunteers, and those served at the Mary Jo Gorden Child Development Center.
