Opportunity

Brunswick is looking to hire a junior consultant (“Executive”) to join the team in Brussels and help national and international clients navigate the complex policy and stakeholder environment in Europe and globally. Native (or proficient user) French speaking is an asset.

At Brunswick, we help the world’s foremost companies communicate what they do, why that matters, and how they can transform to meet the needs of society. These businesses must demonstrate the value they create, manage critical issues, and respond to extraordinary events – including systemic risks to their business.

We create expertly defined public affairs and communications strategies that get to the heart of specific opportunities and challenges faced by corporates around the world. Our team in Brussels operates across the spectrum of EU activities with in-depth knowledge of communications and/or policymaking in the EU and at Member States level and with industry expertise in new technologies, media, consumer industries, healthcare, energy and sustainability among others.

As a junior consultant (“Executive”), you will deliver timely updates and analysis – from policy and politics to media – and in doing so you will develop a strong understanding of our clients’ businesses. Brunswick Executives are the eyes and ears of their teams; they prepare key client documents, in particular briefings, stakeholder lists, media reports and policy analysis, and often lead on monitoring and research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor EU institutional, client and client industry-adjacent news, often in real-time, and alert internal teams and clients to key issues
  • Identify and analyse media coverage on clients and industry trends
  • Provide research and analysis on national and industry issues where appropriate
  • Support colleagues with identifying media and visibility opportunities for clients
  • Prepare stakeholder mapping and briefing books
  • Keep colleagues informed of project status; develop action plans/meeting notes
  • Effectively handle logistics around client meetings, engagement programmes, and other client events
  • Proactively attend events/conferences and start building your professional network
  • Collaborate with peers and senior team members to understand their expectations, identify best methods of working and so that the work is delivered properly and on time

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • One to two years of relevant work experience in an EU institutional role, policymaking and /or communications role, either in a consultancy or in a relevant in-house role for an organisation actively engaged in advocacy
  • A high interest in business and political issues and an understanding of the influence of the media, politics and the public on companies and other organisations
  • Curiosity and awareness of current and relevant global issues
  • Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • Prepares well written, organised and thoughtful documents and correspondence
  • Ability to think creatively, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise, and pay attention to details
  • Ability to exhibit discretion with confidential client matters
  • Engages team members in a positive and productive manner; works collaboratively with teams locally, regionally and internationally

Our offer

  • We offer a competitive reward package, private health insurance, complementary pension, flexible working hours and the opportunity to earn a yearly bonus related to business success and individual performance.
  • At Brunswick, you'll find endless opportunities to put your talents to use, to develop your own skills and those of your colleagues, and to grow with a firm that takes pride in its work and its culture. We will support your personal development through internal and external training programs, and regular feedback.
