Your Team

As a member of the regional Community division, and reporting to the Director of Land, the Senior Development Manager is responsible for design and development activities with internal business processes and reporting. Moreover, the Senior Development Manager is also responsible for production planning, design decisions, receiving approvals from regulating authorities, preparing budgets and cost controls, and construction oversight.

Your Key Deliverables

 Production and Operations Management

  • Provide direction to consultants in preparation of planning material, legal plans, documents, and engineering drawings for approval, as well as managing their schedules
  • Direct and monitor consultants in design and approval of landscape projects
  • Manage onsite development activities
  • Facilitate the approval process with consultants and regulatory authorities
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and municipalities to obtain approvals of Construction Completion Certificates and Final Acceptance Certificates
  • Actively participate in the management of homeowners association

Internal Reporting and Governance

  • Report operations activities
  • Bid and negotiate design and development contracts
  • Review and approve payments to consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • Monitor and administer cost controls and sales, and revenue forecasting
  • Assist with development of Business Plan
  • Create project approval packages

Managing External Relationships

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with consultants and contractors, initiating corrective actions and change, when required
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities
  • Responsible for all construction site conditions, erosion control devices, model homes, and raw land
  • Maintain and foster open and knowledgeable communication with consultants, contractors, and community Residents
  • Responsible for consultants’ and contractors’ performance to expected results

Supervisory Role and Continuous Learning

  • Coach and support direct reports in their Development Plan and operational objectives
  • Provide direction and mentorship to field staff for daily field operations
  • Provide direction and guidance to appropriate operations team

Miscellaneous

  • Participate in identifying potential community acquisition development opportunities and evaluate economic feasibility of potential projects
  • Regularly monitor and inspect all construction sites conditions, erosion control devices, show homes, and raw land

Must Haves

  • REQUIRED: Degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: Additional Education in Planning, or Business
  • 5-10 years related experience
  • Desire to not only accomplish tasks but to continually improve upon processes
  • Proactive leader with strong decision making skills

Strong relationship building, negotiation, problem solving, and organizational skills
