Who are We?
Brooke Charter Schools is a network of five public charter schools, serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. At Brooke, we coach and invest in our teachers so that they can help our students achieve at the highest levels and graduate from college. What is the Student Support Manager Role?
The high school leadership team is led by the high school principal and includes a director of operations and four assistant principals (Math, Humanities, Spanish/Arts, and Science/C.S.), a Student Support Manager, and a History Department Manager. The team works together to ensure a strong and coordinated approach to delivering excellent instruction and a robust and thriving school culture. The specific responsibilities of the Student Support Manager are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification of students not meeting academic benchmarks based on established criteria, and working with the leadership team and teachers to develop and implement effective support plans.
- Directly manage student support staff, including IEP Team Chairs, Related Service Providers, and Paraprofessionals.
- Lead professional development on topics essential to student success, aligning training with staff needs to drive student achievement.
- Ensure compliance with all special education, Section 504 requirements and English Language Development services, in collaboration with the Network Chief of Student Support.
- Assist in state compliance reviews and monitoring.
- Oversee the child study team and special education qualification processes.
- Coordinate services such as out-of-school tutoring, related services, mental health support, and testing accommodations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive student culture, actively contributing to school-wide culture initiatives.
- Build a positive and collaborative team culture within the student support staff, supporting a shared commitment to the school’s mission.
Salary will range from $98K - $143,000 commensurate with experience.

- You’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree and have a deep knowledge of special education requirements (special education license or degree required; in or out of state)
- After at least 3 years of working in the field of special education and a record of strong student results, you have a vision for instructional excellence and know the importance of building a classroom culture where students are held to high behavioral and academic expectations.
- You believe that great teaching is the leading indicator of student success and have an unwavering belief in your students’ capabilities.
- You are professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
