What is the ELL and English Teacher Role?
As an ELL and English Teacher at Brooke Charter Schools, you will coordinate ELL services, provide direct ESL instruction to small groups of students, and teach English classes. You will develop English language proficiency goals that are clear and measurable and track student success in meeting these goals as well as assist coordinating and administering of state mandated and ELL identification assessments. The role also includes coordinating redesignation assessments, monitoring FELL (former English Language Learner) students, and keeping ELL records in compliance with DESE regulations. As a critical member of the instructional team, you will work in collaboration with teachers and share best practices to ensure high quality sheltered content instruction is provided.
The hours for this role are 7:45-4:00 daily.
Is This You?
You hold a valid Massachusetts ESL teaching license.
You’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree.
After at least 2 years as a lead teacher, you know the importance of building a classroom culture where students are held to high behavioral and academic expectations.
You believe that great teaching closes the achievement gap and have an unwavering belief in your students’ capabilities.
You are professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
You are able to start on July 20, 2020.
