People Generalist, EMEA
Brightcove is looking to hire an HR Generalist to work at our London Office location and support our EMEA region. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HRBP EMEA, the ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing many hats and will possess the mentality that no job is too big, and no job is too small. We are a growing, dynamic organization, so this position will grow and change along with the company. Communication is of paramount importance with this role. This candidate should be polished and professional, having a high level of comfort interacting with all levels of management. This is a multifaceted role that covers the spectrum of visitor and employee experience both as the individuals enter, move through and work in the space and the development and continual progression of a collaborative corporate culture, including social and team building events and planning/facilitation of large and complex meetings. This is a hospitality centered role and, as such, the person in this position should have a helpful, can-do, happy to help, ask me anything attitude.
Job Responsibilities
HR responsibilities: 70% of the time or as needed
- Support EMEA HRBP with day to day coordination, execution, communication, and reporting in all HR related matters, in the UK, wider EMEA, and internationally across our Global Customer Success discipline.
- Manage employee on-boarding and off-boarding activities. This includes, but is not limited to, pre-onboarding processes in the company systems, new hire orientation, managing company laptops, office entrance cards, and payroll related matters etc.
- Maintain employee files and facilitate compliance activities, policies and procedures and filings
Lead initiatives and create opportunities in EMEA to help foster a collaborative and "fun" performance based culture
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of engagement, belonging and inclusion initiatives for employees across EMEA including BSocial events
- Consult with EMEA HRBP to develop solutions, programs, policies, and training, when appropriate
- Point of contact for regional benefit questions
- Work with EMEA HRBP to act as as our local EMEA vendor liaison for any day-to-day comp and benefit related matters
- Support with recruiting as and when needed
- Work closely and contribute to the broader HRBP team on any special projects or initiatives including but not limited to employee engagement and HR operations
Office administration 30% of the time or as needed
- Oversee day-to-day office operations and procedures in the London Office including but not limited to - receiving visitors, managing inventory for office supplies, IT assets, office upkeep
- Responsible for HR documents (physical and digital), keys, office supplies, and office passes
- Work with the Global Facilities team to ensure the office is equipped appropriately, running smoothly operationally, office maintenance and moves.
- Provide coordination support for meetings, as needed, including catering and IT assistance
- Partner with a variety of team members to execute onsite and virtual initiatives and events, including budgeting and vendor selection, coordination, and management
- Support the EMEA Leadership team with organization of business meetings, including QBRs and All Hands across different time zones.
Qualifications/Experience
- 2+ years’ relevant human resources experience is required with some knowledge of recruiting, recruiting coordination, or generalist HR
- Proven experience in general office management
- Familiarity with EMEA country laws which govern policies and practices of hiring, compensation, benefits and employment is a plus
- Ability to interact with internal and external contacts at all levels of management including Executives and Senior Management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are a must
- Curious in nature, willing to ask questions and seek guidance when an answer is not known
- Highly organized, flexible, proactive and resourceful
- Ability to multitask considering priorities
- Must be able to work collaboratively across multiple departments locally and regionally across EMEA and globally
- Maintains staff confidentiality
- Background working in a scrappy startup environment is a plus
- Proficiency in GSuite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Excel
Special Conditions
- This role will require at least 3 days a week in the office and when required to liaise with service contractors in relation to the London office
