Job Responsibilities 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple engineering teams including capacity planning, monitoring, incident response, performance optimization and project planning.
  • Guide infrastructure discussions and translate them into internal documents, development plans, and actions.
  • Approach deployment, configuration management, and observability with an “automation-first” mindset.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process enhancements and lead initiatives to implement improvements.
  • Plan and coordinate internal testing and validation processes, ensuring validity, robustness, scalability, and effectiveness of the emerging solution. 
  • Lead the continued adoption of Agile concepts across the organization.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop Software Engineering professionals.
  • Evangelize the work your staff performs to technical and business leaders.
  • Guide and coach your staff, with the ability to go hands on when necessary, so that they can undertake, support and deliver end-to-end engineering solutions. 
  • Develop relevant metrics and processes to help continue to become a data-driven organization.
  • Communicate issues and risks, and their business impact to management in a timely manner with proposed mitigation.
  • Create an engaged and motivated team with accountability and positive attitude.
  • Work across stakeholders, including product management, architecture, and other engineering departments across the company to align capacity and priorities to the ongoing development programs.
  • Create a fun and enjoyable environment balanced with strong productivity and collaboration.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • Substantial software engineering background with 3+ years leadership experience, previous people management preferred.
  • 4+ years working in an agile/scrum setting.
  • 4+ years experience building frameworks, libraries or APIs. 
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment infrastructure for software applications and services.
  • Experience with OTT, video or media is preferred.
  • Experience with payment gateways (i.e. Stripe, Cleeng, Apple store, Google play) is preferred.
  • Experience with GDPR and CCPA is preferred.
  • Experience in building and maintaining high availability and scalable platforms.
  • Experience with observability and incident management.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, inspire and motivate a team of Software Engineers across multiple geographies.
  • Proven ability collaborating effectively with other software engineers, technical leaders, architects, UX designers and product managers.
