About the Finance Department:

Finance is the guardian of Bridgewater’s financial resources. We seek to drive sustainable shareholder value by controlling, safeguarding, and optimizing use of the firm’s financial resources. This responsibility is fulfilled by providing strategic partnership, insights and independent challenge along with the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, forecasting and analysis while maintaining effective and efficient operational control. To further Finance’s impact, the department has launched an aggressive transformation platform to enrich insights, improve reporting, risk and control operations and ultimately develop more intimate, influential relationships with business leaders.

About the Role:

As Finance Associate, Accounting Policy and Reporting, you will be a member of Bridgewater’s Corporate Accounting team responsible for the various responsibilities outlined below. You will develop a diversified skill set and breadth of knowledge that are highly valued across the Finance Department. We are seeking an individual with a solid background in Accounting that is keen to advance their skills and develop in the profession by working across our Corporate Accounting Policy and Reporting teams. 

You will drive the following responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director, Accounting Policy and Reporting, to produce timely and reliable financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, statutory/regulatory and management reporting requirements
  • Continuously think of improving operational processes so that they achieve the intended outcomes more effectively and efficiently
  • Execute on critical judgement-based activities and processes
  • Support the Corporate Accounting team with technical accounting research
  • Support various aspects of the financial audit, which will involve direct interaction with the external auditors as well as with other areas within the Bridgewater organization
  • Support ad hoc requests as necessary

We are looking for candidates with the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, with a strong academic track record
  • CPA with 3-5 years of experience, highly preferred is experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Proficient technical accounting writing skills
  • Advanced Excel skills

Physical Requirements

For most of our roles, Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility, with most employees required to work on campus as their principal work location, a minimum of two days (and in some cases three days) per week with the option to work offsite on other days.

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $120,000 - $165,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 80% - 90% of this wage range.
