Investment Engine Technology Department
The Investment Engine Technology team at Bridgewater engineers systems to understand the world. These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world’s most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world’s most important capital. Our technologists are engineering highly available, high performing and highly secure cloud platforms and infrastructure which support and scale our investing operations.
Disruption Lab Team
The Lab is a new group within Bridgewater, a small and growing team headed by two of our senior investors and one of our lead technical Architects. The Lab’s basic premise is to disrupt the firm’s traditional investment processes from the inside out.
Our mission is to create a series of incremental experiments & prototypes using various machine learning techniques and cutting edge applied technologies coupled with traditional financial analysis methods towards the goal of creating an AI system that can contribute predictive views on markets alongside Bridgewater’s existing processes. Basically, we are seeking to build another “investor at the table,” minus the subjectivity.
In a collegial and collaborative atmosphere, the team is comprised of some of our top investment and technology professionals and is tasked to design, construct and understand statistical, machine learning and optimization models of financial markets.
The Senior Software Engineer will be architecting and developing highly intricate and complex tools and collaborating with our senior and most sophisticated investors. You will be designing, building and creating new tools coding approximately 80% of your time, leading other engineers’ efforts and delivering robust, scalable, highly secure and state-of-the-art solutions.
