Finance Department Overview:    

The goals for the Finance Department are to establish and maintain a strong financial foundation for Bridgewater, to protect Bridgewater’s financial interests, and to shape Bridgewater’s financial future. Working with the firm’s Senior Management, we are responsible for designing and implementing Bridgewater's financial strategy. More specifically, we execute the day-to-day financial operations (accounts payable, client billing, payroll, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, project portfolio management, shareholder reporting, record keeping, and calculations); we protect and oversee corporate assets (through partnering with the business on procurement best practices, internal controls, budgeting, cash management, and insurance); and we provide strategic information about, and synthesis of, the financial picture to Senior Management.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Sourcing, the Sourcing Associate will be a member of the Strategic Sourcing team in the Finance Department, driving direction and maintaining strong ownership of commodity categories across BW departments and 3rd party spending. S/he will be in a position to drive change at Bridgewater by developing, assessing, and managing category strategies in a manner that aligns with departmental business needs, firm-wide demands, and also our firm-wide financial strategy. S/he will partner with departments to understand their annual budgets (CapEx and OpEx), near and long-term business goals, cost/quality/quantity ratios, and then execute on sourcing events supporting the business objectives. In particular, the Sourcing Associate will be fluent in business process planning/budgeting and implementation, creative sourcing strategies, supply market analysis, buy vs. build scenarios, outsourcing, offshoring, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to lead and design solutions in the best financial interest of the company and see those designs come to life.          

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant sourcing experience, which may include some or all of the below:
    • Full-cycle category management
    • Cost modeling with a total cost of ownership focus
    • Supply market analysis
    • Sourcing strategy execution (RFx, vendor evaluation, bidding, scoring, etc.)
    • Contracts management
    • Supplier performance analysis
    • KPI and SLA development and monitoring
    • Business process outsourcing
    • Business planning and budgeting
    • Leadership and professional services experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the gravitas to interface with senior leaders
