The Procurement Intern is responsible for partnering with Breeze teams in the planning, development, and execution of strategic sourcing projects and related initiatives. The Intern leverages spend analytics and market intelligence to identify cost optimization opportunities in the sourcing of goods and services, along with system process improvements. The Intern will work closely with the Finance team on determining the right spend at the right time for our start-up airline. They will be involved with foundational programs and projects that will be the base upon which the airline will be built. As part of the Finance team, they will get a view into how the organization comes together to get Breeze off the ground.
Here’s what you’ll do
Assist with preparing RFPs, stakeholder alignment sessions, and market due diligence
Build processes and procedures for proper spend management
Support strategic sourcing projects (using standard sourcing methodologies) for a variety of goods and complex services, by estimating cost savings benefits and evaluating strategic sourcing performance metrics (KPIs)
Ensures compliance with operational requirements, internal controls, and regulations
Create ad-hoc analyses for operational, commercial, and administrative projects
Performs analysis of category spend to assist in the development of sourcing strategies
Develop dashboards and metrics for daily, weekly, and monthly spend reporting
Engage with other departments to identify opportunities to save money or avoid costs
Develop cross-departmental relationships and Procurement training programs
Generate standard monthly reports
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the senior executive team
Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
Here’s what you need to be successful
0-2 years working experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Procurement, FP&A, Accounting, or Finance
Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field from an accredited university
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of stakeholder needs
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Practices extreme ownership and transparency
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Exemplifies Breeze’s safety culture, values, and mission
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization
