Job: Medical Program Specialist

Description:

The Occupational Health & Wellness Specialist manages several medical, wellness and health related programs that support the business and consults on numerous cross-functional programs, specifically with HES, Benefits and P&O.

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Specialist would be responsible to:

  • Manage, create and sustain aligned medical and health programs for the US region.
  • Manage Contracts and Relationships with medical and health related vendors
  • Administer the Aftercare Program for positive random drug screening results and determine return to work clearances for the program
  • Partner with site leadership to implement team member wellness programs
  • Manage the budget for various team member wellness programs including biometric screenings, flu vaccine clinics, and programs with other external vendors.
  • Represent as Crisis Management Team’s Medical Coordinator Role for drills and incidents
  • Represent Braskem America in the company’s Global Integral Health Program
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation Program and report injuries and illnesses to carrier, partner with healthcare providers on treatment plans for team members, submit billing and invoices to carrier, advise on return to work clearances for the program   
  • Ensure Medical Surveillance, Emergency Response Team Physicals, Respiratory/Fit Testing program meets regulatory requirements  
  • Support other relevant  regulatory or industry programs:
    • Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) - Section 8 coordinator
    • ACC Health and Safety Committee
    • HIPAA – Evaluate Braskem conformance with the requirements and protection of personal information

The Specialist would coordinate and partner with the other functional areas on the following team member programs:

  • Health Insurance Liaison with the US Benefits Team
  • Advocate on behalf of team members with insurance-related barriers
  • Support International Travel Program as needed
  • Advise on Team Member policies and procedures (i.e., Randon Drug Testing, Absence Procedure, Fitness for Duty/Return to Work, Accommodation Requests)

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in managing similar or related programs

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational medicine, nursing, health sciences, business administration
  • Collaborative approach to drive team member and leader engagement in wellness/health activities
  • Implementation of health programs that drive a wellness mindset
  • Collection and analysis of engagement data for programs that drives business decisions or improvements
  • Contributing to meetings and provoking healthy discussions
  • Providing leadership, expertise, and resources across all organizational levels
