Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Case Manager to join our team. The Case Manager will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating personal injury cases involving public entities. This position requires a deep understanding of Title 59 and NY Public Entity claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Oversee and manage a caseload of personal injury cases involving public entities from inception to resolution.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about case progress and addressing their concerns promptly.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, review, and file necessary legal documents, including Title 59 applications and NY public entity claims/applications.
- Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of claims, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and collaborating with experts.
- Coordination: Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure efficient case progression and adherence to deadlines.
- Compliance: Ensure all case activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and firm policies. Maintain and monitor deadlines for filing documents, court appearances, and other critical case-related actions to ensure compliance.
- Deadline Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of deadlines to ensure all filings and actions are completed timely and accurately. Proactively communicate upcoming deadlines to the team and take necessary steps to meet them.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and provide regular reports on case status to attorneys and firm management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; paralegal certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of case management experience in a personal injury law firm, with specific experience handling public entity claims, Title 59 applications, and NY public entity claims/applications.
