The Opportunity

 

Requirements

This role will begin with a 90-180 day contractor period before converting into a founding full-time employee with equity.

Full day overlap with GMT+ 8:00.

  • At least 5 years of relevant backend software engineering experience, preferably at startup/tech company
  • Proficient in two or more of the following languages (backend): C/C++, Java, C#, Javascript, Python, SQL
  • Experience architecting, building, and maintaining complex & highly available services
  • Experience working with unstructured or non-standardized data, building data pipelines and/or database management
  • High attention to detail and excited to learn new skills and tools

As a founding engineer team member, you have a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team where you can have an outsized impact on the healthcare journey of our members. You will work closely with the Hive leadership to shape and implement the product roadmap. By helping build Hive’s tech stack and implementing product features that enhance our health insurance platform offering, you will be part of a cross-functional team that scales our services to small and medium businesses who are the backbone of the Philippines economy.

Responsibilities

  • Own and ship key product features for members, healthcare providers, and internal teams, working from scoping to implementation
  • Champion engineering excellence, establish QA/testing processes and drive continuous improvement to infrastructure stability and scalability
  • Evaluate and identify improvements to the existing infrastructure to ensure scalability of our backend
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in growth, customer success, medical operations, finance to respond to evolving customer needs
  • Support hiring efforts to build a high performing team to execute against product roadmap.
