Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor or Master of Science in computer science, computer engineering, computer software or related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with production software development
  • Android development (Java/Kotlin) experience
  • Experience with Android Studio
  • Experience in Testing, in particular Unit & UI testing
  • Experience with writing software in a fast-paced engineering team
  • Testing (Suites, Tools & Frameworks) experience
  • Android Auto experience
  • Google Automotive Services knowledge
  • Strong understanding of front end/UI design methodologies
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitrise, etc.

What you’ll be working on

Position Objective

 

You want to help shape the digital future of our client then come and join their team in the Silicon Valley as Android Software Engineer. The mission of the Silicon Valley office is to create new digital experiences, drive business innovation to explore new products, features & services for the Company. The goal is to identify new opportunities, prototype new product ideas by leveraging design, research, and engineering while recognizing new digitalization strategies for the U.S. market

As part of the cross-functional product team contribute to the product success by developing state-of-the art Android-based systems to support software that enables new vehicle and mobile experiences. As part of a cross-functional product team, this role is also involved in ideating, creating, and evaluating new lifestyle services, customer engagements and driving experiences.

The position is based in Palo Alto, CA. They are working in a hybrid work environment with onsite and remote workdays.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, define, and support the build of Automotive systems based on (but not limited to) Android Automotive OS
  • Support existing and new projects related to the customer experience and digital lifestyle
  • Own and become a resident expert of various components of development and functionality within the team & project
  • Collaborate with other software & vehicle engineers (local and Germany) as well as the rest of the cross-functional product team within a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment
