THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Requirements

The DNS Infrastructure group within Roblox's Network Infrastructure team designs and develops networking software to make Roblox fast and reliable for users around the world as well as our internal services. We are looking for a Principal level DNS Engineer to help build, and manage our production systems:

  • Authoritative DNS servers
  • Internal DNS resolvers
  • Global load balancing

You have:

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant engineering field
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with Linux systems and shells, daemons, and processes
  • Experience programming with languages like Python or Go
  • Experience with distributed systems in a production operations environment
  • Experience working with large-scale Internet infrastructure
  • Self-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of DNS protocol
  • Experience with DNS software like BIND, PowerDNS, …
  • Systems configuration management experience with automation tools

You will:

  • Own the DNS infrastructure
  • Develop and execute on the DNS strategy
  • Build automated management for DNS changes
  • Design and develop monitoring and visualization software
  • Improve quality and performance of our user experience

What you’ll be working on

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

$233,840—$283,780 USD
