Box's security, compliance, and privacy posture is a business enabler for customers and a competitive differentiator in the market. We seek a Senior Manager, Japan Customer Trust, to lead the strategy and execution of Box’s customer trust efforts in Japan. This will include oversight and responsibility for for gathering, vetting and scaling security, compliance, privacy and other trust-related information to customers and partners. The right person should be excellent at communicating vertically and horizontally across the company and will be comfortable explaining Box's security, compliance, and privacy posture internally to key stakeholders and externally to customers, partners, and government officials.


  • Lead strategy and execution for Box’s customer trust efforts, including customer security due-diligence questionnaires and audits

  • Assess the need for new customer-facing content; drive the development of the content; and then scale it to account teams, customers and partners

  • Meet with customers and partners as needed to share Box’s security, compliance and privacy posture; this will include speaking with Japan government officials on behalf of Box about ISMAP and other certifications and regulatory requirements, as appropriate.

  • Advocate for Japan customer and regulatory requirements with leaders across Box.

  • Work closely with both Box Japan’s leadership team and Box GRC’s leadership team to drive shared understanding and joint business outcomes.


  • 8+ years experience in an equivalent Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) role, ideally with customer-facing experience at a high-tech or Big 4 company

  • Proven ability to work with internal senior leaders and customers and partners; experience working with Japan Government on ISMAP is preferred but not required

  • BS degree in Business or Management Information Systems or related field OR equivalent work experience

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in Japanese and English

  • Strong desire to learn more and to get stuff done.
