We’re looking for a high energy, highly motivated, independent, hands-on individual with the people skills to work with leaders and business partners across the organization and be part of a high performing team. This role will manage the day-to-day activities, month-end close, and projects as assigned surrounding daily vendor invoicing and queries, expense reports, corporate cards, and month-end close at KK Box Japan (Box Japan). This role also manage Analytical Review on BS and PL as well as Cashflow forecasting and Fixed Asset Management depending on his/her skills. This role will report into the Japan Accounting Manager. A successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment, be able to manage multiple stakeholders both internal and external and have strong communications both in English and Japanese (including speaking, reading and writing) and customer service skills.

We oversee all General Accounting duties including Accounts Payable, T&E Expense, Cash, Fixed Assets, and Expense Allocations.  Our experienced team is looking for someone who will be a trusted resource and is passionate about working cross-functionally with other teams. This team member will also be tasked with various projects to build world class processes and systems as Box Japan continues to scale and provide SOX/audit support related to all things Accounts Payable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting: Journal entries preparation on related Accounts Payable, Cash, T&E, Corp Cards, etc.
  • AP:
    • Process incoming AP invoices, expense reports processing,  payment inquiries.
    •  Resolve purchase order, invoice, and payment discrepancies with Boxers as well as external vendors.
    • Review and process employee expense reports in Concur, support employees with Concur expense reporting inquiries including resolving any open Service Desk tickets.
    • Work effectively with other functions to resolve AP issues and support any Coupa/Concur inquiries.
    • Perform User Acceptance Test upon system upgrades.
  • Other: Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned. Participate in wider departmental projects and initiatives as requested.

Experience and Education:

  • Fluency in Japanese and business level in English
  • More than 1 year of accounting experience with specialization in Accounts Payable and Expense Reimbursements
  • Excellent teamwork, time management, communication in English and Japanese (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and customer-service oriented
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with the ability to multi-task and think independently and creatively
  • Strong Excel skills
  • NetSuite and Concur or Coupa experience a plus
  • J-tax experience a plus
