WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Our team of technology finance professionals - with backgrounds in finance, banking, consulting, and engineering - acts as critical partners to organizations across the business, helping to inform, drive, and support important decisions in all functions. We are deeply involved in analysis in key areas ranging from sales capacity to data center strategy modeling, and everything in between. We also play a key role in synthesizing all of this analysis, so that our Investor Relations team can communicate with our shareholders, our executive staff can present our strategies, goals, and outcomes to our Board, and our CEO and CFO can make critical decisions impacting the entire organization.
Through being deeply involved in strategic analysis across the business and executive, Board, and shareholder communications, our Strategic Finance team is critical in ensuring that Box is enabled to achieve our near- and long-term goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The position offers great learning opportunities, a platform to inform significant decisions, exposure and accountability to Box’s leadership team, and the ability to drive strategic projects. You’ll be contributing to Box’s profitability as well as our ability to scale efficiently and effectively. There will be a direct connection between your activities and the success of the business.
- Build and own models that help us more accurately predict our expenses and cash flows
- Create new models and views to help Box manage increasingly complex foreign exchange and tax-related impacts to our financial profile
- Contribute to key Board reporting, ranging from reporting quarterly results to communicating long-term financial strategy conversations
- Collaborate closely with other Finance and Accounting teams to improve and drive scalable processes for tracking and managing funding requests, triaging intra-quarter headwinds and tailwinds, and assessing company-level variances to plan
- Own the planning tool used by the Strategic Finance team and manage the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual rhythms related to our forecast and plan cycles
- Develop a long term road map for enhancements to our planning tools and processes
WHO YOU ARE
- You have 3+ years of experience with time spent in investment banking, consulting, or finance within a top technology company
- You have strong analytical and financial modeling skills and enjoy applying them to tackle highly complex business problems; you have a command of the details, but don’t get lost in them
- You can tell the story behind the data through relevant insights and conclusions and take pride in developing solutions where data can be organized in a better way
- You are a self-starter who can effectively prioritize multiple work streams and constituents and are comfortable in a fast paced, hybrid work environment where your role will impact colleagues in the United States, Europe, and Japan
- You are a poised communicator and know when to voice your point of view
- You can navigate networks of systems and people to find the information you need
- You are comfortable contributing to projects end-to-end, from initiation and planning through to closure
- Prior knowledge and experience in working in Anaplan or similar tools is a big plus
