Why the Shield team needs you
Our team is building a new product that empowers our customers to trust Box with their most sensitive data by – 
a) Identifying anomalous access and potentially compromised accounts
b) Providing more context and analytics around user activity
c) Delivering capability to configure classification based controls
 
We do this by solving the following problems:
  • Rule & Machine learning based Anomaly Detection
  • Capability to classify content
  • Set access policies based on content classification
  • Real-time analytics on alerts & user activity

We are looking for engineers with a passion for building out enterprise products and features that are able to handle complex use-cases in a robust and easy-to-use way. We are focusing on building a product to help customers stay secure, detect anomalous behavior and present it in a way that's easy to consume. As an engineer on our team, you will join a diverse, fast-paced, full-stack team that works together to build these new capabilities.
 
What you'll be responsible for
  •  Key contributor to the technical roadmap of the Shield product
  •  Drive the design and implementation of features related to enterprise 
  •  Influence our team's processes and execution methods
  •  Coach and mentor other engineers and teams
  •  Collaborate with others senior engineers across our organization to define our technical strategy 
 
Who you are 
  • Several years of experience as a software engineer
  • Strong experience in web architectures, spanning front-end and back-end layers.
  • Proficiency in Front-end technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS)
  • Fluent in any object oriented programming languages (like Java) and relational databases (like MySQL)
  • You have an academic background in computer science or a related field
  • Act like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions
 
Welcome experience 
  • Experience decomposing monolithic applications into service oriented architectures
  • You have some experience with React
  • Experience in Scala
  • Experience working with HBase, Apache Spark or other big data technologies
