The Role

If you are a recent graphic or communication design graduate with strong skills in interaction design, visual design, and prototyping or a graduate in human-computer interaction design with a keen eye for design, we want you! As product designers at Bottomline, our goal is to ensure that our products are meaningful and useful within their intended contexts. Using our skills, we aim to create products that not only meet the needs of our users but also elicit desire. We strive to simplify the complexity of our offerings, delivering comprehensive, human-centred experiences that are satisfying from beginning to end. As a member of the Product Design Team, you will closely collaborate with other user experience professionals and with Product Management, Development, Marketing, and Customer Support teams focused on specific product lines. In your role, you will be involved in all stages of the product design process. This includes user research, defining user journeys, creating initial design concepts, developing high-fidelity prototypes, conducting usability testing, and implementing the designs. You'll have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with experienced design professionals and business stakeholders throughout the process. 

 

How you will contribute

  • As a team member, you will play a crucial role in every step of the design process, from initial exploration and planning to testing and execution.  
  • Your key tasks will involve integrating user needs, research insights, business requirements, and technical limitations into design workflows, wireframes, and prototypes.  
  • You will also develop and refine various user personas and stories.  
  • Collaboration with the product design team and product managers will be essential as you translate business needs, feedback, and specifications into innovative design solutions. 
  • Your focus will be on enhancing product experiences through thoughtful interaction and visual design, and you will be instrumental in evaluating product features for potential design improvements.  
  • You will also create experience models, wireframes, and interactive prototypes rooted in user research while actively participating in ethnographic studies, stakeholder and end-user interviews, and usability testing to gain valuable insights.  
  • Your role will also involve ensuring project design quality and advocating for end-user needs throughout the design process.  
  • Your contributions to the proprietary design system and collaboration with the global product design team will also be crucial in developing new components and design patterns.  
  • You will also support global design initiatives across various product lines and design roadmaps.

 

What will Make you successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, human-centric interaction, human factors, interactive design, UX design, or working experience in a related field. 
  • A great portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of human-centered design and end-to-end design solutions across desktop and/or mobile devices. 
  • Ability to rapidly wireframe, prototype, validate, and iterate based on feedback and analysis. 
  • Ability to create and present design rationale in concepts, interaction models and interactive prototypes. 
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) 
  • Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating effectively with people across different geographic regions and skill sets. 
  • Refined visual design and layout skills. 
  • Great communication and presentation skills. 
  • Understand and recognise the importance of usability and research initiatives and methods. 
  • Understand, support, and adhere to design systems. 
  • Passionate about technology and excited by the opportunities within the FinTech industry is desirable.
