Role
We are looking for Principal Quality Engineer to innovate, win and grow with us in Theale!
Work with the Development team on Bottomline’s exciting and innovative Payments and Financial Document Automation SaaS solutions. We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Quality Engineer to lead our software quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development life cycles, quality assurance methodologies, and the ability to drive best practices across the organisation.
How you’ll contribute:
- Provide vision and direction for the software quality engineering function, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive software quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Design and implement test automation frameworks and solutions to ensure efficient and thorough testing cycles.
- Work closely with development, product management, and customer support teams to enhance software quality across products.
- Oversee the creation of detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Manage and prioritise defects, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication to stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor junior and mid-level quality engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Analyse quality assurance metrics and drive improvements in processes and practices.
- Promote and implement CI/CD practices in coordination with the DevOps and development teams.
- Evaluate the potential risk areas in software and prioritize them based on severity.
If you have two or more of the skills listed below, we would like to hear from you.
- Proven working of experience in a software quality assurance leadership role and SME product strategy.
- Proven experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Java and/or C# programming language knowledge
- Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or similar.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare).
- Familiarity with performance and/or security testing.
