Born & Bred is looking for a curious, creative and judicious Brand Strategist to create the strategic building blocks of incredible brands for a wide range of clients and industries. The ideal candidate is someone with a nuanced understanding and point of view of what it takes to develop a great brand. The Brand Strategist will create the strategic foundation of our clients' brands and help bring those ideas to life. You’ll design and facilitate discovery workshops, deliver concise and insightful research and analysis, define foundational brand elements (Mission, Vision, Values, Personality and more), contribute to additional work streams such as naming, messaging, campaigns, content strategy, and digital experience as needed, while supporting the growth and development of the Strategy practice here at Born & Bred. 

The ideal candidate loves working closely with clients and teammates as a trusted advisor and advocate, uncovering the nuggets of insights and ideas that have the potential to propel brands to new heights. They are a natural leader and amazing problem solver who can bring their own well-honed best-practices to the table but also be able to quickly adapt based on client and agency needs. 

The Brand Strategist will work with a high level of autonomy and creative freedom, reporting to the Strategy Director, and working closely with the Creative Directors along with the rest of the Brand team.

 

What you’ll do when you’re here:

  • Design and lead engaging immersion and brand strategy workshops with client teams
  • Design and execute qualitative and quantitative consumer research including insight-gathering interviews, surveys, and/or focus groups with stakeholders (clients, consumers, community members, etc..)
  • Lead and/or contribute to creative work-sessions with the Born & Bred project team 
  • Leverage client input, consumer and industry research, informational interviews and additional methodologies to identity and frame insights in clear language, build solid rationale to support strategic recommendations 
  • Identity distinct strategic territories for the brand to embody as their North Star, crafting compelling stories and inspirations each 
  • Stay current and interested in related client trends, innovations, and thought leadership
  • Translate collective learnings, insights, and analysis into impactful deliverables for clients of wide range of brand-fluency  to easily digest..
  • Summarize the finalized brand strategy elements in a concise, meaningful, and actionable brand platform (brand-on-a-page) for the clients to easily understand and act upon. 

 

Minimum qualifications: 

  • 3+ years experience defining brand strategies with a brand/creative agency
  • Proven track record of developing compelling brand strategies for a variety of clients
  • Proven research, content synthesis, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • An innate willingness to fight for ideas and work worth fighting for
  • An exceptional communicator, across writing, presenting, analysis–branding is storytelling 
  • An obsessive attention to detail
  • A team-first attitude with a desire to lift up the work of others
  • A self starter, with the ability to work efficiently and independently in a remote environment
  • A natural leader, with the ability to inspire teams, and build consensus
  • Plus: Experience in naming, brand architecture, quantitative data insights, copywriting, web information architecture, content strategy, and/or creating and executing digital campaigns.
