ABOUT BOOSTED COMMERCE

Boosted Commerce (founded in 2020) is a CPG platform focused on accelerating the growth of beloved consumer brands. We do this by acquiring, investing in, and growing third-party seller businesses (mainly FBA based) and through original product development across verticals that we believe offer exceptional opportunity. Over the next twelve months, Boosted will acquire dozens of seller businesses and launch a similar number of original products. The founding team at Boosted has successfully exited multiple companies and is looking for talented, entrepreneurial, driven, and creative people to join us on our current journey.

The founding team has raised significant funding to acquire and build a diversified portfolio of brands on the world’s most dominant e-commerce platform, Amazon.

With e-commerce revenue of over $250 billion annually representing over 50% of total sales on the internet, Amazon products are being sold at scale across every possible consumer category. Amazon’s marketplace of third-party sellers accounts for 58% of all Amazon e-commerce sales with over 1 million sellers on the platform.

With the goal of acquiring 100 third-party sellers’ businesses over the next five years, Boosted is in need of a top team of qualified and passionate contributors. Joining Boosted at this early stage represents an opportunity to grab early market share and drive inorganic growth that will ultimately lead the company down a very clear path to profitability.

YOUR JOB

The CFO has oversight of all efforts related to financial management, ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. The role will be tasked with building upon the strong groundwork already set up within our finance function and accelerating the operational processes as we grow and eventually go public.

This role will also require institutionalizing effective compliance, accounting, and treasury policies and working to provide much-needed financial clarity to evaluate future decisions. The CFO will bring a dynamic and immense level of leadership to the table and is able to act as a data-driven link between financial and strategic objectives.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the finance strategy, with the core mission of managing the finance function during expected rapid growth, funding stages, and a public offering.
  • Oversee collaboration across workstreams sitting within finance, including Legal, Human Resources, FP&A, and additional partners that are deemed necessary to carry out a best-in-class finance organization.
  • Accountable for forecasting, planning, and budgeting. This includes determining priorities, allocating resources, and developing internal tools, policies, and processes.
  • Collaborate across all internal functions, from operations to supply chain, ensuring a single source of truth across all messaging, work products, and special projects.
  • As an Executive, you will ensure team members are excited to go to work every day, ready to produce results and make a positive difference in the world.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of upward trajectory with demonstrated quantitative finance experience in a public company. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience excelling in the role of CFO
  • Experience within high-growth startups in the retail and consumer space. 
  • Previous capital fundraising with a start-up, poised to go public.
  • Experience with significant growth, ideally coming from the $50-250M stage vs joining at $1B only or $0-10M only. 
  • Experience managing corporate finances in or above the $200-400M range.
  • Experience creating a plan and leveraging that vision to build a financial roadmap. 
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading finance teams, and experience overseeing relationships with external agencies. 
  • Experience utilizing ERP or BI to track performance and inform on strategy. NetSuite and additional ERP systems exposure are a plus. 
  • B.S. in Finance or Accounting
  • If you do not have experience leading a Pre-IPO start-up, you must have experience with a large established publicly-traded company.
  • Multi-Channel / Multi-Brand experience 
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles Area, this is not a remote position

Desired:

  • Bonus points for prior experience taking a company public via IPO or SPAC, including a deep understanding of the audits and reviews required to be IPO-Ready.
