Role Overview:
Boom Supersonic is seeking an experienced Aircraft Surface Modeler to join our team. In this role you will collaborate with engineering teams to produce CAD models for the Overture supersonic airliner.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Overture engineering teams to generate design concepts for aircraft surfaces, structures, sub-systems, and components.
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception and prototyping to production.
- Evaluating aero developed lofts and collaborating with team to define surface files that balance manufacturability with aerodynamic intent
- Ensure all Class-A criteria, such as feasibility, fit and finish, surface quality, and tolerance, meet design and manufacturing requirements.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in industrial design, design engineering, or equivalent with 5 or more years of experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated lofting/class A surfacing proficiency with at least one CAD system (CATIA V6 (preferred), NX, Solidworks, etc.)
- Experience in the full design and development lifecycle, including ideation, prototyping, development and testing.
- Experience in industrial design, digital design, model making, product design, or related fields is desired.
- Demonstrated experience creating CAD models and designing components and structures
- Problem-solving and collaboration skills are a must; can work with large teams to solve complex, ambiguous technical problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with different groups internally and externally.
Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $45 - $57 per hour. Actual hourly rate will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
