The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Senior Analyst to support commercial pricing processes and elicit value add insight. You and your team will be ensuring that a robust framework and process is maintained to facilitate price testing and tooling within our Commercial function. The role will involve line management and development of 2 x analysts.

This is a critical role in supporting the Commercial function of the business. In this role, you will be enabling the Pricing and Supply product group to add value and drive benefit through ownership on insight and data driven decision making.

 

Remit includes

 

  • Crafting key metrics around competitiveness.

  • Developing automated pricing models

  • Working with developers to log new data points to enhance insight into product performance

  • Automating processes to efficiently manage reporting requirements, and ensure timeliness of information

  • Linking together disparate data sources to drive insight

  • Support team on adhoc analytical requests

  • Support trading investigations by building alerting on key metrics

  • Ensure we have commercial and qualitative analysis on product performance

  • Ensure that maximum value is leveraged from the use of competitive data.

  • Support pricing and destination strategy through management of price testing.

  • Work with product owners on building budgeted performance for relevant products

  • Create robust tracking processes to prove value that product is driving and report ROI from teams.

  • Support hypothesis investigation that guides product development, using varied analytical techniques.

  • You will have the ability to work with imperfect data sources and ambiguity whilst able to provide recommendations and elicit value through applying clear, credible assumptions.

Essential skills

  • Ability to write complex queries to extract, manipulate and analyse disparate data sources.

  • Solid experience of working with Python, SQL, R & Impala (minimum of 2).

  • Strong awareness of statistical techniques and applications.

  • Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities & threats.

  • Able to balance the need for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Proven experience (minimum 2years) in leading and developing a team.

  • Able to manage expectations and delivery in a high pressure environment with a multitude of stakeholders.

  • You are a very strong communicator especially when clarifying requirements and managing expectations with non-technical and less data-savvy colleagues

  • Leads by example.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience of working in a multichannel, online business in an analytical function. 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of multivariate testing and other price testing methodologies.

  • Able to critique, coach, guide delivery in range of analytics technologies and techniques
