ROLE PURPOSE

We are looking for a Senior Area Manager with strong experience of managing Supply Partners with excellent leadership skills to manage a team of people, an ability to build deep, supportive relationships and successfully negotiating best market rates and deals to support our stretching business objectives within a key scaling period for the Taxi business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Management

  • Identify Trading challenges and opportunity around volume and margin targets and take decisive action with appropriate stakeholders
  • Lead weekly Trading Reviews with the Commercial Team to track progress against volume and margin targets, identify growth opportunities and risks and agree actions to address them reporting back to Head of Commercial
  • Regularly monitoring the performance vs. targets and working with the management team in Commercial to update strategies and plans to exceed target
  • Supporting and coaching the team to negotiating the best rates, commissions and promotions with our suppliers to enable a competitive price position and margin protection
  • Identify new processes and ways of working to drive the highest quality and customer experience

Supplier Management / Relationship Management

  • Generating and maintaining Senior Supplier relationships including the negotiation of key contracts
  • Working alongside the team and our key suppliers to develop plans to achieve the commercial and customer strategy and objectives of both sides
  • Researching and developing opportunities for working with new suppliers to broaden customer choice and to achieve volume and margin growth
  • People Management and Development / Self-Management
  • Driving exceptional team performance through defining and supporting performance through regular one to ones and monthly reviews
  • Supporting the development of your team by continually assessing training needs and putting plans in place to achieve for the whole team
  • Acting as a role model for the team through demonstrating excellent personal performance and effectiveness, professionalism and ethics

Department and Company Projects

  • Leading and/or supporting implementation of departmental improvement projects as well as acting as a representative of the department on business improvement initiatives
  • Identifies new initiatives to benefit the Commercial Team and our Supply Partners

Operational Management

  • Driving team efficiency through a prompt and professional handling of queries that impact commercial performance of the business
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships across the business with all key internal stakeholders

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Commercial Role, ideally within the travel sector
