Job Title: Accountant
Location: Tartu/Tallinn, Estonia

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team to manage accounting and payroll operations for our Estonian division. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, autonomous, and adaptable, capable of maintaining accurate financial records while supporting a dynamic and evolving work environment. You will report directly to the Chief Accountant in Estonia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting tasks such as processing purchase invoices, bank statements, and transactions. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all entries and account balances.
  • Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll tasks for the Estonian team, including handling salaries, tracking sick days and vacation time, and processing salaries.
  • Reporting & Month-End Close: Assist with monthly financial close processes by reviewing journal entries, lease transactions, and other related accounting procedures.
  • Vendor Communication: Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolving any invoice discrepancies.
  • System Management: Work with Microsoft Navision for accounting entries, bank balances, and maintaining tracking tables for financial data.
  • Compliance & Taxation: Ensure compliance with Estonian tax laws, especially concerning payroll. Stay up to date with local tax regulations and implement any necessary changes.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and Estonian tax law. Previous experience with Microsoft Navision or similar accounting software is an asset.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Estonian is required.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling salaries and financial entries is critical.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently while keeping an open line of communication with the team. Must be able to manage your workload effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Openness: The role involves working in a dynamic environment where processes may evolve. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and open to implementing new systems or methods as needed.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Prior experience working with payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with Estonian tax regulations and payroll processes.
