The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support the operational excellence of Bobsled’s data sharing platform. You’ll apply your expertise to complex technical and business challenges and develop innovative solutions that meet requirements concerning functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability. You will be part of the team ensuring the quality of our platform, and your work will have an enormous impact on the way organizations use data across the world.

As an early hire, you will also play a pivotal role in building our team and culture, fostering a collaborative environment, and assessing engineering candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a creative thinker and problem solver and contribute to technical discussions to deliver on quality assurance responsibilities.
  • Design and build testing system based on integrations with storage services, data warehouses and other cloud tools using mainly Cypress as a UI tests driver to protect against regressions and new bugs.
  • Drive quality across all teams, providing guidance, feedback, and suggestions to improve quality practices across the engineering organization.
  • Work alongside the SRE team and use techniques such as logging and metrics as well as bespoke tools to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Be instrumental in the design and implementation of Bobsled's quality assurance process adhering to modern best practices.
  • Be aware of changes in quality assurance best practices and new technologies which Bobsled could adopt to drive product excellence. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a senior SDET or similar role responsible for assuring quality.
  • Expected to work in JavaScript or TypeScript, but experience in other modern languages will be considered.
  • Expert knowledge of quality assurance principles and modern testing techniques at scale and tooling required to deliver on these.
  • Experience writing E2E test suites using frameworks such as Cypress/Puppeteer/Playwright.
  • Experience with testing APIs and implementing API automated testing.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD principles.
  • Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure and databases. Serverless knowledge and data warehouse experience is a big plus, along with cloud monitoring and logging facilities.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $130-$160K
