Job Description:

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Web Design/Graphic Artist to join our team, supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role requires a team member with practical experience and theoretical knowledge in web design and graphic arts, who understands the overall purpose of their task assignments and can contribute effectively within specified guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly websites and digital assets.
  • Create graphics and visual elements that effectively communicate brand messages.
  • Collaborate with the consulting staff to understand project requirements and deliver within specified guidelines.
  • Apply state-of-the-art techniques in graphic design and web development to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure design consistency across all media and platforms.

The position operates on a hybrid work schedule, requiring on-site presence for five days each pay cycle, primarily in the DC metropolitan area, at various identified VA location.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in web design or graphic arts.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and web development tools.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web design coding languages.
  • Experience with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of creative design and web projects.
  • Experience in a consulting environment or supporting government clients, particularly in healthcare or federal sectors.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The proposed salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000.
