About the Role

As a Business Operations Sr. Manager at Bluevine, you will use analytical rigor and sound business thinking to drive strategic decisions and position Bluevine as a best-in-class financial services platform for small businesses. The Business Operations Sr. Manager will partner with managers and executives to design and assist in the execution of go-to-market and revenue growth strategies, diagnose and resolve operational inefficiencies, and incubate new roles or functions. In this highly analytical role, you will have a direct hand in Bluevine’s success by contributing to our strategic direction and driving successful execution.

What You'll Do:

  • Support and act as an extension of the General Manager of our Lending & Credit business unit by identifying and characterizing opportunities and risks, leading high-priority initiatives, conducting ad hoc analyses, partnering with functional teams to drive high-quality business planning and execution, and summarizing business performance for executive consumption
  • Lead Cross-Functional Projects to Increase Customer Lifetime Value: Spearhead innovative projects focused on enhancing the customer experience from onboarding through retention, using creative strategies to improve client conversion and develop new cross-sell or pricing strategies.
  • Summarize Business Performance: Provide transparent business performance summaries for executive review, ensuring accuracy and honesty in all reporting.
  • Devise Go-to-Market Strategy: Create groundbreaking go-to-market strategies for new product launches, channel mix, and acquisition and distribution, collaborating closely with Finance, Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
  • Drive Business Process Improvements: Proactively identify and rectify inefficient systems, refining key processes to create and establish scalable, replicable SOPs, embodying the owner's mindset in enhancing our operational efficiency as we scale.
  • Support Corporate and Business Unit Strategy Development: Engage in thorough research and analysis, prioritizing the company's sustainable growth and demonstrating a vested interest in the long-term success and strategic direction of Bluevine.
  • Collaborate Closely with Cross-Functional Teams: Engage closely and work hand in hand with teams across the organization to understand value drivers and client needs, facilitating a shared understanding that leads to the production of impactful ROI analyses and the successful execution of new initiatives.
  • Partner with Other Teams Post-Implementation: After implementing new processes, collaborate to analyze results, create performance reporting, scale best practices, and iterate, refining strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and collective advancement.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in a strategy or operations role, demonstrating a track record of impactful decision-making and project management.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify and define complex business challenges, explore and evaluate alternative solutions, and conduct thorough analyses to inform strategic decision-making. You should be adept at making well-reasoned recommendations while clearly communicating the pros and cons of various options.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to manage large datasets effectively. Basic knowledge of SQL, or commitment to ramping up quickly, is required
  • Independent Analysis and Team Leadership: Demonstrated capability to independently build operational models and lead complex analyses, as well as guide and oversee the work of others as needed.
  • Influential Communication: Proven ability to shape executive decisions through innovative analysis, sound judgment, and impactful communication, both verbally and in writing. Capable of influencing decisions at the executive level and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Values Diverse Perspectives: Has a track record of working effectively in diverse teams, valuing different viewpoints, and contributing to an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Strategic Agility: Comfortable challenging the status quo, enhancing strategic plans, and managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, without losing focus on the broader business objectives and operational detail

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL or Tableau skills are a plus, aiding in more complex data analysis and visualization tasks.
  • Advanced Qualifications: An advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA) is a plus.
  • Consulting Experience: Previous experience in a management consulting role is advantageous but not required for consideration

New Hire Base Salary Range: $170,900.00-$209,400.00
This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.
