This is a hybrid role. At Bluevine, we pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, which we believe is best maintained through in-person interactions and a vibrant office environment. All of our offices have reopened in accordance with local guidelines, and are following a hybrid model. In-office days will be determined by location and discipline.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Sr. Risk Strategy Analyst at Bluevine you will use your knowledge of risk management, BI and data analytics in monitoring and maintaining our decisions quality and where it can be improved as well as help build a highly scalable Risk Operations team. Responsible for driving credit, fraud, and the strategies team efforts to achieve corporate and business level OKRS. Work cross-functionally with risk operations, risk analytics, business operations, product, and business unit leaders to understand different viewpoints, obtain data to make tradeoff decisions, and then conduct independent analysis of possible courses of action.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Serve as the senior analyst for the Risk Strategy team; responsible to drive credit, fraud, and the strategies team efforts to achieve corporate and business level OKRS
- Work cross-functionally with risk operations, risk analytics, business operations, product, and business unit leaders to understand different viewpoints, obtain data to make tradeoff decisions, and then conduct own independent analysis of possible courses of action
- Develop presentations and present analysis and recommendations in a clear, concise, and compelling way for a variety of audiences ranging from the Board of Directors to operational leaders
- Conduct independent analysis of tradeoff decisions such as analyzing possible incremental losses from a risk policy changes vs. the incremental revenue
- Help build out Bluevine’s risk governance structure, including a quantitative risk appetite statement with metrics and limits, in a manner that would pass regulatory scrutiny as a Bank or Public Company
- Research best practices for Risk organizations and recommend implementations that work for Bluevine
- Work with Risk Data Automation to design and complete experiments such as A/B tests or analysis of the risk/revenue impact of leveraging a new vendor data source
- Research and present out of the box solutions to limit credit and fraud risk while maximizing revenue and minimizing customer friction
- Leverage excel, SQL, and python or similar tools for quantitative analysis
- Teach, coach, and mentor junior risk analysts
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- 2-4 + years of relevant experiences of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Economics / Mathematics / Business) or relevant work experience as an Analyst in a financial institution
- SQL is required, Tableau and Python knowledge/coding experience preferred
- Credit Strategy experience / Lending experience is a Huge plus.
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint (large group presentations) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)

- Knowledge of bank operations, including but not limited to account application processing/customer onboarding, payment processing, deposit operations, fraud operations and customer support
