We are looking for an ambitious Accounting Manager for EMEA and APAC markets, to lead our current bookkeeping team responsible for operations in Greece with future opportunities to grow and take on new markets within the regions. The Accounting Manager will be part of a team of professionals working to support Blueground’s financial operations and maintain order and transparency of the company’s accounting records. By contributing to the overall efficient operation of the department and by helping the company be fully aware of its financial condition, this role can help the company make the right decisions and accomplish long-term success. The ideal candidate should be able to work comfortably with numbers and have great attention to detail.
What you will focus on:
- Oversee bookkeeping function for multiple EMEA and/or APAC markets
- Facilitate collaboration between bookkeeping and financial operations, ensuring all business transactions are recorded properly
- Liaise with the Finance Department, to support business controlling
- Manage the month end close process
- Review the monthly IFRS Reporting Package, and other financial reports according to IFRS and internal accounting guidelines
- Prepare the annual IFRS Reporting Pack for consolidation purposes
- Work with the tax department and external consultants regarding compliance-related obligations of the company
- Liaise with external group and statutory auditors
- Assist with other accounting projects and/or ad hoc projects
- Assist in assessing current processes in terms of efficiency
- Work closely with the transformation team to identify and prioritize the processes to be redesigned and bring in efficiencies
- Focus on developing the skills/knowledge of the current team members to build a strong accounting team.
What we are looking for:
- Positive attitude and can-do mentality
- BSc or Ba in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- 6-8 years of experience coming from a similar position within an accounting firm or in-house accounting department with a focus on accounting operations
- Experience in high-growth companies will be considered an asset
- Understanding of IFRS accounting principles and reporting practices.
- Fluency in English
