ABOUT THE FLOCK
bluebird bio’s external affairs team is building confidence and conviction in bluebird and our ability to deliver on our mission to bring patients and their families more bluebird days. This committed, focused, and fun flock is looking for our newest team member to support day to day operations in Patient Advocacy while providing coordination support of grants and sponsorship requests for bluebird bio. HOW YOU’LL FLY
You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:

Working across the Patient Advocacy team to support operations and execution of programmatic and educational opportunities, including grants and sponsorship requests across bluebird’s three disease areas of focus.

Facilitating Funding Review Committee operations, including meeting agenda, logistics and minutes.

Managing submissions to the grants and sponsorships management system (portal), including triaging relevant requests to internal cross-functional partners and interfacing with external organizations to ensure complete submissions and efficient and compliant reviews.

Ensuring agreements for Patient Advocacy grants and sponsorships are executed and fulfilled in a timely manner.

Working in tandem with cross-functional partners, including Legal, Compliance, Finance, Commercial and Medical Affairs as needed.

Processing master services agreements, statements of work, memberships, and/or letters of agreement related to Advocacy and Alliance Development team needs.

Opening requisitions and managing purchase orders through the complete lifecycle, from approval through payment.

Managing internal reports and updates on supported initiatives.

Assisting the head of Advocacy and Alliance Development with tracking the Patient Advocacy and Government Affairs spend, including budget creation, reallocation, and reporting.

Maintaining up to date database of patient advocacy organization and community-based organization contacts.

Supporting patient involvement in internal and external events, including processing agreements and coordinating logistics
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:
-
A bachelor’s degree and at least 1+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry; experience in Patient Advocacy and/or with Medical Grants and Sponsorships is a plus.

Knowledge of grant management systems and compliant patient advocacy policies and procedures; knowledge of RMS is a plus.

Knowledge of Oracle and/or Icertis is a plus.

Strong motivation to support patient communities; keeps the patient at the forefront of everything you do.

Prior experience/examples of proactive ability to see tasks through from start to finish with minimal supervision

Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills; ability to multi-task.

High comfort level with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence, cooperation, and the incorporation of multiple points of view.

Ability to embrace change and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.

Role could include travel up to 10% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as paid holidays, bluebird days, and a holiday shutdown in December.
