Our Facilities team is seeking a Contract Facilities Engineering Manager to join us onsite in our Boston, MA office. As a Facilities Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. HOW YOU’LL FLY
You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:
- Managing day-to-day operations of the laboratory facilities, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment. Overseeing maintenance activities, including equipment, utilities, and infrastructure, to uphold high standards of quality and reliability.
- Leading and coordinating facility-related projects, from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and upgrades to enhance overall facility functionality.
- Ensuring all facilities and operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Implementing and monitoring safety protocols to create a secure working environment for laboratory personnel. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors for facility-related services and projects.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability within the laboratory facilities, aligning with corporate environmental goals.
- Partnering with our Facilities & EHS team to develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring staff awareness and readiness for various scenarios. Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to conduct regular drills and exercises.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical laboratory setting.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful execution.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in the biotech industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Location: Boston, MA (onsite)
Contract Length: 12 months
