An exciting opportunity to build the team that will drive the cloud adoption for an innovative startup powered by machine learning.

We need someone to build out our engineering team whilst being hands-on delivering new greenfield cloud native products.

This is an early hire position with the expectation that you will lead scaling up the team(s), building the engineering culture and defining the ways of working.

We are small startup that is providing a leading growth platform for direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands. As a small startup there are significant opportunities to get involved in many areas including working directly with the COO to advise on optimal organisation structure and product delivery.

Who are you?

  • Working as a senior software engineer or a hands-on engineering manager and you will be passionate about building supportive, collaborative and safe environments for your team

  • Expert in at least one high-level language

  • Comfortable designing scalable and supportable cloud native architectures in either AWS, Azure or GCP

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and uses lean development approaches to learn fast and pivot when needed

  • Looking to step into a team leadership role growing a team through recruitment, internal recognition and personal development

  • You are product-focused and have a pragmatic approach to engineering, prioritising delivering value to our customers

Interview process

  1. Quick 30 min call to give us an opportunity to tell you more about the role

  2. 1hr System design interview - We want to know about how you problem solve, this will be a real problem with many different routes to a good solution and we want to see how you explore those.

  3. 1hr Leadership, collaboration and delivery interview - We want to hear examples of the role you have played in successful projects; and equally where you encountered problems and what your learnt from those situations.

  4. 30 minutes with our CEO to ensure our values match with your own.
