Blend helps lenders maximize their digital agility. Our digital lending platform is used by Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and other leading financial institutions to increase customer acquisition, improve productivity, and accelerate the delivery of any banking product across every channel. Through our software, we enable our customers to process an average of more than $5 billion in loans per day, helping consumers get into homes and gain access to the capital they need to lead better lives.
The Config Platform team is building the next generation of the Blend platform. It is a platform where banks can create their own unique user experiences via a drag-and-drop interface. It generalizes all of the Blend offerings - including features we’ve built in the past to automate assets, income, rates, fees, credit, and documents data collection, as well as features that automate reminders, notifications, e-signatures requests, etc. - for all consumer finance transactions. This platform supports a fully user-defined data model, fully configurable workflow experiences, and fully user-designed features without requiring our customers to write any code.
Config Platform's frontend utilizes a highly sophisticated no-code application builder. Using this no-code tool, a user can create banking applications by creating pages, decisions, conditions, themes, integrations and more. We're using a modern frontend stack to create this single page experience. This builder creates several end-user experiences, and to achieve that we're building highly configurable & generic building blocks to enable these different user journeys. Every frontend component is theme-able, their looks and feels configurable. This degree of flexibility and the interactive nature of this application builder provide difficult technical design challenges for us to solve.
In addition, due to the fact that our application data model is user-defined, we need mapping capabilities in order to connect this data model to any features that Blend has built - this requires additional user interfaces with which this admin user can map their fields to data inputs for our features. These are intricate user experiences and the challenges involved in building them are numerous and difficult.
We are scaling this team to be able to handle all of the challenges that we need to tackle as we build out more and more functionalities for the config platform. We are looking for engineers with a strong sense of component and interface design, someone who feels excited by building out design systems and figuring out complicated interfaces, someone who doesn’t fear uncertainty and lack of exact directions.
