Black Swan Data Inc. seeks a VP Client Strategy in New York, NY to build and run a portfolio of clients in the predictive/advanced analytics space.

The Role:

1. Convince clients that there are challenges they may not yet have identified (or at least understood could be solved)

2. Excite and energize clients on how our solutions can solve those challenges, citing previous work examples.

3. Ownership of Solution Design and Sell In: Identify pain and symptoms. Identify which of our use cases match the client’s pain, enabling the QB to help the client to compile a list of required capabilities.

4. Responsible for POC design (Trendscope, Horizon work and creative services).

5. Oversee annual subscription design and how it will deliver value over the year.

6. Understand and define measures of success for client.

7. Design effective client programs, which maximize value for our clients over an entire year, and result in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) for Black Swan.

8. Establish community of practice/ steering group with client responsible for jointly establishing value of Black Swan subscription.

9. Surface new product development opportunities and / or issues with current solution and own feedback loop to product team and roadmap

10. Provide competitive insight into product strategy

11. Partner with product marketing to continuously improve case study materials and sales collateral

12. Active participation in formal product forums as required.

13. Work collaboratively within the team, and outside of it, to achieve our collective ARR goals. Aid in the training and onboarding of new hires to the team, especially with solutions hires. Foster a positive, entrepreneurial culture within the solutions team, and in the USA-based sales team. Manage workload and capacity closely and visibly so that the team can easily understand what capacity is available at any given time. Prioritize work that generates ARR.  *Will supervise Client Strategy Director, Client Services Director, Client Strategy Director, Client Strategy Director, and Insights Director



Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Math, Psychology, or in a closely related field plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related occupation.

Special Requirements: Expertise/Knowledge of:

1. Designing, facilitating, and delivering qualitative and quantitative research projects across use cases including Incremental & Breakthrough Innovation, Brand Positioning & Communications, and Audience Segmentation & Profiling

2. Designing and delivering Big Data, Advanced Analytics and Social Trend Prediction using Microsoft Office tools, including Advanced Excel.

3. Managing client retention and growth in the consumer packaged goods sector

4. Supporting Regional P&L accountability, design, monitor and reporting.


Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/ knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/ knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time."

*20% travel required to client sites throughout the U.S. ** Hybrid Work: May work from home 2 days a week when not reporting to NY office.

WORK SCHEDULE:      40 hrs/wk (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)     

SALARY OFFERED:      $230,000 / year
