We are seeking a communications leader to join the Blacklane team. You will be the company’s storyteller and spokesperson for internal and external audiences. This role requires unending curiosity about travel, mobility and sustainability, with a knack for making important information interesting. You’ll join a rapidly developing scale-up that is redefining the premium ride service industry.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
You will drive the company’s external and internal perception, increase brand awareness, and build executives’ profiles. Your primary activities will be media relations, PR agency management, and sustainability communications. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop a public relations strategy reaching locals and visitors, travel managers, chauffeur company owners, investors and prospective employees.
- Train and grow your team to meet Blacklane’s global and regional communications needs.
- Align Blacklane data and company messages with industry trends to tell unique stories, taking ideas from concept to launch.
- Write communications materials including press releases, pitches, briefing sheets, speaking abstracts, press kit materials, award submissions, and bylined articles.
- Manage media interview requests, organize press briefings, and support conference activity, both as a spokesperson and in support of executives.
- Support and collaboration with Sales, Product, Operations and Marketing colleagues to align messages, create campaigns and respond to urgent requests.
- Manage the external and internal communications of our future investment plans. You will work on turning Blacklane’s operations, innovations and profitability into a cohesive narrative over 24+ months.
- Own the company’s global internal communications strategy across a dozen offices and a 400-person team of more than 70 nationalities.
- Liaise with sustainability organizations to amplify Blacklane’s carbon neutrality and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Manage the internal communications team as well as local PR agencies.
- Manage brand ambassadors for visibility and product improvement.
ABOUT YOU:
- You are a fluent English and German speaker who takes pride in creative and accurate prose. Excellent communication skills are essential. Other languages are a plus.
- You are inquisitive, proactive and hands-on, with a love of travel, the planet, and technology.
- You have 10+ years of experience in PR, communications, or a related field.
- You find ways to highlight your colleagues’ achievements.
- You thrive in collaborative and diverse environments.
- You are comfortable counseling executives, writing in others’ voices, and speaking in public.
