Summary:

Bittrex, the leading blockchain technology provider and cryptocurrency exchange, is hiring a fully remote Senior Backend Software Engineer (SDE III) to join our Platform Team. We are looking for talented individuals that will help us push the boundaries of blockchain technology and drive innovation within the industry. In particular, we are looking for an experienced back-end engineer with cloud experience who is comfortable working on large production codebases, enjoys building fault-tolerant systems, and is eager to help build the next generation of solutions and trading tools.  The senior-level engineer that we hire for this role can expect to spend (50%) of their time coding, (30%) on architecture, and (20%) on leadership.

In this role, you will: 

  • Code primarily in C# and Java, and work with SQL
  • Own and drive the development of large features across multiple services in our cryptocurrency exchange platform 
  • Work independently and with engineers across multiple teams to ensure scalability and usability  
  • Contribute to strategic direction and drive new engineering features, processes, and standards 

Requirements: 

  • At least 5 years of experience working on APIs and Cloud services 
  • Experience coding in C#, Java, or similar programming languages 
  • Expertise in SQL (preferably MS SQL Server) and relational database design concepts
  • Experience with big volume applications
  • Experience implementing business critical database applications, microservices, and/or long-running backend data processing applications
  • Proven track record of area ownership and driving large features to completion 
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively drive technical discussions
