Bit Reactor is in search for a Lead Hard Surface Artist with an eye for detail and a passion for creating devices, weaponry, vehicles, and more. In this role, you will use your talents to collaborate with our art team in the creation of game-ready assets and help deliver a best-in-class player experience that will revolutionize games through the lens of the Star Wars universe.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for artistic fundamentals, nerds out about the details of a composition that has something to say, and is a strong collaborator who takes the time to entertain all ideas with the willingness to develop the best one together. As a lead artist, you understand how to solve a variety of production challenges given the team, product, and company constraints. 

JOB – Lead Hard Surface Artist

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead the hard surface modeling and texturing efforts for the project
•    Collaborate with the Concept Design and other departments to establish the look and feel of assets
•    Establish and maintain best practices, quality bar, pipelines, tools, and processes for the department
•    Ensure all assets meet the high standards set by the team
•    Work with other departments to make sure assets are properly integrated into the game engine
•    Mentor and guide junior artists on the team
•    Organize and pioneer research and development efforts aimed at improving the Hard Surface art pipeline, tools, and processes

•    8 years of experience as a 3D Hard Surface Artist in the games industry
•    Previous experience as a Lead, Principal or Senior level Hard Surface artist.
•    Demonstrate excellent foundational skills, including composition, design, structure, silhouette, sculpting, and color theory
•    A strong portfolio demonstrating your skill generating hard surface assets and a strong artistic understanding of form and function.
•    Expert knowledge of 3D production pipeline, highpoly, lowpoly, UVs, baking and texturing.
•    Excellent attention to detail and the ability to create models with a high level of accuracy
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
•    Extensive knowledge of 3D modeling software such as 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and hard surface specific software such as Fusion 360.
•    You will build and manage a team of Hard Surface Artists
•    Ability and willingness to tackle technical problems and quickly learn new tools and workflows

•    Knowledge of Unreal Engine
